This member of the rose family is a shrub-like or perennial herb with partially woody stems. The single-stem plants are 4 to 28 inches tall with evergreen leaves. Leaves are unequally pinnate (feather-like) with inconspicuous flowers arranged in spikes with no petals. The flowers produce a single seed. Biddy-Biddy grows on open grassy slopes along the Pacific coast in California and Hawaii.
