Stock is an old fashioned garden plant from southeastern Europe. The leaves are oblong, about 4" long, and the flowers are on rigidly upright spikes in terminal racemes (flowers attached along a central stalk). Each flower is about 1" long and white, red, purple or yellow in single or double flowers. Stock plants grow to 2' tall. They have a strong fragrance and are popular garden plants.
